2026 ACMA Management Academy Participants

Congratulations again on being selected to participate in the 2026 ACMA Management Academy! We look forward to seeing you next week for our first session.

Session One – Time/Date/Location:
9 a.m. to 2 pm.
Friday, January 9, 2026
League of Arizona Cities and Towns office, Room 103
1820 West Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85007

Parking is available and free in the League’s parking lot immediately around the building.

Light breakfast will be provided (coffee, pastries, etc.) as well as lunch. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Session One – Topic: Council Manager Form of Government

  • History and Philosophy of Council Management Form of Government
  • The Role of the City/County Manager
  • Factors for Success in a Political Environment

We will send an agenda with speaker information to you next week.

All Sessions – General Information:

  • Academy participants will meet monthly (usually on the third Friday of each month unless otherwise noted) from 9 am to 2 pm
  • Please see the attached list of session dates and topics, and please put holds on your calendars for these.
  • See a list of fellow Management Academy participants for 2026
  • A light breakfast and lunch will be provided at each session.
  • Participants will be responsible for travel to and from the sessions as well as any required lodging and/or other expenses.
  • The sessions will take place midmorning and midday to accommodate any required travel.
